Collector's Edge, one of the worlds foremost sources for exquisite, museum quality mineral specimens announced that it has signed an agreement with the prestigious Geological Museum of China, to share its knowledge and expertise by jointly sponsoring an exhibit of important examples of some of the finest mineral specimens known.



The Mineral Treasures of the World Exhibition will be on display during the summer of 2010 at the Geological Museum of China, in the heart of Beijing. Conceived in the spirit of international relations and to foster the business, avocation and academic study of minerals and mineral collecting, Collector's Edge is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Geological Museum of China.

When asked about his motivation for this ambitious undertaking, Bryan Lees, President of Collector's Edge said, "

This exhibition is a first for the Museum introducing an international exhibition, aimed at presenting advanced Western concepts and methods to the general public, demonstrating both the popularity of minerals and their collection of relevant knowledge, so that people understand the economic value, as well as promote the rational development of mineral resources and effective use. The exhibition will be for the domestic collectors, Earth Sciences enthusiasts, professionals and managers to provide a sumptuous visual and cultural feast."

Collector's Edge is in the final stage of assembling the exemplary mineral specimens from around the world, as well as from its own collection, to be shipped to Beijing, in early May 2010. The exhibit will open to the public and will also include displays on how mineral specimens are mined, collected, preserved and prepared for display, as well as sensible criteria for building a collection. The anticipated audience will include other mineral collectors, Chinese government dignitaries, foreign and domestic academic scholars, visiting tourists, school children and leaders in the mining and mineral business world wide.
