Starting on the 28th of May the Collector's Edge, in conjunction with the Geological Museum of China, has displayed an exhibition of over 100 "World Class" mineral specimens. The reviews and feedback have been overwhelmingly positive. A blog in beijing has been established to cover the events progress. Even if you cannot read Chinese I think you will enjoy visiting the blog at the following address:

Over the next few weeks I will try to document the "behind the scenes" moments of the event for the CEMI staff. I will add photos and text every few days from Beijing. The exhibition runs through the 18th of July. I hope to capture the full flavor of the sights and sounds, the sounds are mostly car horns! My first three week stay was great. Now that I am about to start my second, I thought I would take advantage of the opportunity and share our experiences in the city.

My first day there was highlighted by a trip to the Great Wall. It was Steve's last day there and the Geological Museum wanted to make sure he did not leave without seeing some sights.

We were lucky to have one of the staff interpreters with us from the museum. Her name is Reno.

One of the first things we saw reminded us of home!

The scenery and weather were both great!

The maintenance man was on break while we were there.

This part of the Great Wall was a very steep climb. When we got here I could see why part of the entry fee was insurance!

It was a good place to stop for a photo though!

The view from the top.

Just outside the entrance there was a rock monument for the Great Wall.

Steve and I had a great time at the Great Wall. Thanks to the Geological Museum for making it happen!

I hope to have more posted by the 5th of July. I will keep you posted!

Thanks for looking at our website.
