Locality: Zapata claims, Icabaru River placers, Santa Elena de Uairen, Bolivar, Venezuela
Dimensions: .8 x 1.8 x 1.0 cm

The Zapata claims in Southern Venezuela's Icabaru River goldfields are famous for their world-class gold crystals, which occur in a dizzying array or crystal forms. This is a choice 1.8 cm wide example of a deeply-hoppered dodecahedron, with a nice rich gold color. The hoppering is exceptional in this crystal, and the dodecahedral form is very obvious. A superb example of one of the rarer gold morphologies. Weighs 10.7 grams. Ex. Proctor Family Trust Collection.
