Good color and large crystal size make this a great Elmwood calcite. Considered by many to be the world's best example of the species, calcite crystals from the Elmwood mine complex (actually 3 mines- Elmwood, Gordonsville and Cumberland) are treasured by collector's around the world for their vibrant color and often large size. This specimen features a large cluster of twinned scalenohedral crystals with undamaged tips and rich golden-yellow color. The crystals are aesthetically placed in dolomite crystal matrix.
