Besides the famous tanzanite specimens, the Merelani Hills have also produced am impressive amount of other wonderful gem crystals and species. Chromian diopsides, such as this one, are amongst the most desired species from the locality, known for their fantastic lime color, nearly unparalleled gemminess, and often impressive sizes. This is a nice example, measuring in at 5cm tall!
